Jamal Murray suffers from plantar fasciitis, he says

Nuggets point guard Jamal Murray is struggling with plantar fasciitis, he said Friday night.

The 27-year-old Murray recovered from an injury officially ruled as right hamstring inflammation and scored 20 points in Denver’s win over the Clippers. He had missed the last two games and took part in the team’s training session on Wednesday.

However, the hamstring pain wasn’t his only injury, as he revealed after also notching four steals.

“I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel at the start of the game,” Murray said when asked about his hamstring. “I didn’t know how many minutes I would play. I just went out and said, “I’ll give it what I’ve got.” Fresh legs. Had energy. Feel good now. Some plantar fasciitis. Everyone is going through something. But I’m fine, man. I’m happy to be back.”

Murray is averaging 17.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game this season. He’s having his lowest efficiency season since his rookie season, shooting 42.5% from the field and 33.7% from the 3-point line. But in the last nine games he has played, the numbers have gradually improved. He shot 37.3% from three during this stretch.
