Max Christie performance selected

One of the players who made a significant contribution was rotation player Max Christie, who made an impact on both ends of the field.

The Lakers were +16 with Christie in the lineup, with the guard scoring 12 points and adding 4 rebounds and 2 assists. He also made a block.

Christie’s performance was highlighted by Lakers legend James Worthy, who praised his contribution.

Worthy told the Lakers’ postgame broadcast: “He’s smart, he wants to learn, defensively he wants to play to his strengths (but) he can score, he can shoot, he can get to the basket.”

“He is as strong as an ox, some players were frustrated with his defense.

“Even in the Phoenix Suns game, he was uncomfortable running into Kevin Durant, he’s the type of player he is, and tonight he was a disruptor and a contributor.”

D’Angelo Russell praised Max Christie

D’Angelo Russell contributed 17 points himself and had positive things to say about Max Christie’s play in the locker room after the game.

Russell said, “Man, I appreciate his ability to just be coachable. He never lacks knowledge, he always wants to learn, he is a sponge. I could talk about this guy forever, man, I love this guy.”

He added that it’s “not easy” to tune out the outside noise surrounding the Lakers and is pleased that Christie has managed to focus on his game.

Next up for the Lakers is an NBA Cup game against the Western Conference leaders Oklahoma City Thunder. It’s a must-win if they want to have a chance of progressing.
