Jamie Foxx jokes about Sean “Diddy” Combs’ parties in the new Netflix special

Jamie Foxx joked about the online conspiracies that tried to link his near-fatal medical emergency to Sean “Diddy” Combs.

In the new Netflix comedy special Jamie Foxx: What happened was… The 56-year-old Oscar winner sets the record straight about his health scare in April 2023, revealing that he had a “brain hemorrhage that led to a stroke” and that he couldn’t remember 20 days of his life.

As part of the special, Foxx takes the stage to address the conspiracies and claims circulating online about his health, including some people’s claim that Combs, 55, “tried to kill me.” Joe Rogan, one of the most influential podcasters, even amplified the wild claim by discussing it on a November episode of his show.

“The internet said Puffy tried to kill me, that’s what the internet said. I know what you’re thinking: “Diddy?” Foxx joked, adding, “Hell no, I left the parties early.” I was out at 9, something doesn’t seem right. It’s slippery in here.

Foxx also joked about Combs as he recalled his medical emergency.

“Your life doesn’t flash before your face. It was strangely peaceful somehow. I saw the tunnel. I didn’t see the light. However, I was in that tunnel. It was hot in this tunnel. S—, am I going to the wrong place in this mother——?” He said, adding, “Because I looked at the end of the tunnel and thought I saw the devil saying, ‘Come on. ‘ Or is that Puffy?

Combs faces a mountain of allegations related to his celebrity parties. He is currently in federal custody in New York City after being charged in September with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution.

According to the indictment obtained by PEOPLE, Combs allegedly used coercion to get women to participate in so-called “freak offs,” described by prosecutors as “elaborate and staged sexual performances.” Prosecutors also say authorities found “unnatural supplies” during raids on Combs’ homes in Los Angeles and Miami in March, including drugs and more than 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricants.

He pleaded not guilty but was refused bail on several occasions. His trial is scheduled for May 2025.

Foxx and Combs have been photographed together at events over the years, and Foxx was one of the speakers who honored Combs at his induction into the Hollywood Walk of Fame in May 2008.

Other online conspiracies circulating about Foxx included claims that he was cloned or replaced by an AI when he spoke out in a video shared three months after his hospitalization.

Ice-T criticized the “crazies” behind this conspiracy. Write on cold!”

Foxx’s representative also denied previous unfounded claims back in June 2023 that a COVID vaccine caused the health crisis.

“This comedy event is a celebration of resilience, humor and the power of community and reminds us all of the healing power of laughter.”
