Jared Goff’s fake trip fools Bears

Jared Goff’s fake trip fools Bears

Did the Detroit Lions just invent a new game?

In the third quarter, the Lions were up 27-14 against the Bears and grabbed the ball on first-and-10 from the Bears’ 21-yard line when disaster appeared to be striking.

Jared Goff appeared to stumble and fall while taking the snap under center and running back Jahmyr Gibbs hit the turf at the same time. It looked like a trip, a fumble or something else, but in reality it was all an acting call by the Lions.

Goff’s trip and Gibbs’ fall were all preordained, and after a few seconds of action, Goff stood straight up and handed a dime to Sam LaPorta as he charged into the end zone behind a bewildered Bears defense.
