Jay-Z and Sean Combs are accused in a lawsuit of raping a 13-year-old girl

Jay-Z was accused in a civil lawsuit on Sunday of raping a 13-year-old girl alongside Sean Combs in 2000. The lawsuit, first filed in October in the Southern District of New York, initially listed the Roc Nation mogul, whose real name is Shawn Carter, as an unidentified celebrity defendant. Carter has vehemently denied the claim and accused the lawyer who filed the lawsuit of trying to blackmail him with false claims.

The accuser, who sued as Jane Doe, claimed she was attacked by Combs and Carter after she was driven to an afterparty for the MTV Video Music Awards in New York City.

The Amended Complaint Obtained by Rolling Stones, states that Doe was dropped off near Radio City Music Hall by a friend so she could try to attend the VMAs, but she didn’t have a ticket. Because she wanted to attend the show or an afterparty, she reached out to limousine drivers and tried to help them get in. One of the drivers claimed to work for Combs and invited her to an afterparty. According to the lawsuit, after first driving Combs and others to the afterparty, he asked her to return to the location where they met so he could take her to the event.

According to the complaint, two men asked Doe to sign a document that she claimed she had not read but now believes was a nondisclosure agreement. She was advised not to discuss proceedings at the event. Doe said she recognized many celebrities in it and witnessed widespread drug use.

After being offered a drink by one of the servers, Doe began to feel “light-headed and dizzy, requiring her to lie down,” the lawsuit states. Then Doe looked for a place to rest and found a room with a large bed. Shortly thereafter, Combs allegedly entered the room with Carter and a female celebrity whose name is not mentioned in the complaint.

Combs allegedly “aggressively walked toward plaintiff with a crazy look in his eyes, grabbed her and said, ‘You’re ready to party!'”

“Combs then threw Plaintiff against a wall, causing Plaintiff to fall,” the complaint states. Then Doe tried to get up and stumbled. “Combs grabbed her again and threw her onto the bed. At this point, Carter began removing plaintiff’s clothing as she became increasingly disoriented,” the lawsuit states. Doe claims she was held down by Carter as he allegedly raped her while Combs and the female celebrity watched.

Combs then allegedly raped Doe while Carter and the unknown female celebrity watched. Combs then allegedly tried to force Doe to perform oral sex on him, but she fought back and hit him in the neck, which “stopped his attempt,” the lawsuit says.

According to the lawsuit, after the alleged assault, Doe “grabbed her clothes” and left. She says she found her way to a gas station where she called her father to pick her up.

Carter’s attorney did not immediately respond Rolling StonePlease comment. But in a statement from Jay-Z, he accused Doe’s lawyer, Tony Buzbee, of blackmail in the form of a demand letter.

“What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and public scrutiny would lead me to agree,” the statement said. “No sir, it had the opposite effect! It made me want to expose you for the fraud that you are making VERY public.”

“These allegations are so heinous that I ask that you file a criminal complaint, not a civil complaint,” the statement continued. “Anyone who would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked up.” It continued: “These alleged victims would deserve real justice if that were the case.”

“My heart and support go out to the real victims around the world who watch their lives being disguised in a cheap suit by this ambulance chaser for profit,” the statement continued.

“This amended statement of claim and the recent extortion lawsuit against Mr. Buzbee expose his barrage of lawsuits against Mr. Combs for what they are: shameless publicity stunts designed to coerce payments from celebrities who fear lies are being spread about them, that is “I spread something about Mr. Combs,” Combs’ legal team said in a statement. “As his legal team has stated, Mr. Combs has full confidence in the facts and integrity of the legal process. The truth will prevail in court: that Mr. Combs has never sexually abused or trafficked anyone – man or woman, adult or minor.”

Jane Doe is seeking unspecified damages. Her lawsuit is one of at least 20 complaints Buzbee customers have filed against Combs so far. The Texas-based attorney said he is representing more than 120 clients against Combs. He filed an initial set of six lawsuits against Combs in early October. More than 30 sexual misconduct lawsuits have been filed against Combs since his former partner Casandra “Cassie” Ventura first sued him for rape and human trafficking in November 2023. That lawsuit was settled within 24 hours, but opened the door to other allegations and a criminal investigation.

Combs, 55, was indicted in September and has pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation for prostitution. The media mogul was arrested in New York City on September 16 and has been in custody since then. He is currently housed at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. His trial is scheduled for May 2025.

In November, a self-proclaimed celebrity anonymously sued Buzbee, claiming the lawyer “shamelessly” tried to extort him while representing more than 100 men and women with alleged legal claims against Combs.
