Jay-Z makes a scathing statement about allegations that he raped a minor

Rap superstar Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, released a scathing statement against a Texas-based attorney who accused him of conspiring with disgraced rapper, music producer and entrepreneur Sean “Diddy” Combs to kill a 13-year-old of raping girls.

The civil lawsuit, first reported by NBC News, was originally filed against Combs in the Southern District of New York in October, but was refiled on Sunday to include Carter as a defendant.

The outlet reported that the accuser’s attorney, Tony Buzbee, initially sent a letter to Carter about the alleged rape at an MTV Music Awards afterparty in 2000 and asked for mediation to “resolve this matter.”

In response, the rapper and entrepreneur filed his own lawsuit against the attorney, NBC News reported.

Less than an hour after news of the lurid and disturbing allegations broke on Sunday, Carter posted a statement on Instagram under the account of his label – Roc Nation – calling the allegations “blackmail.”

“My lawyer received an extortion attempt, a so-called demand letter, from a ‘lawyer’ named Tony Buzbee. What he calculated was the nature of the allegations and public scrutiny would lead me to agree,” the statement said. “No, sir. It had the opposite effect! It made me want to VERY publicly expose you for the fraud you are perpetrating. So no, I am NOT giving you a RED PENNY!!

These allegations are so heinous that I ask that you file a criminal complaint, not a civil complaint! Anyone who would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, wouldn’t you agree? These alleged victims would deserve real justice in this case.”

Carter further criticizes the lawyer, saying he has a pattern for this type of “theatrics” and is unsure how Buzbee became such a “deplorable human being.”

“My only sorrow is for my family. “My wife and I will have to sit down with our children, one of whom is at the age where their friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims and explain people’s cruelty and greed,” Carter continues. “I mourn another loss of my innocence. Children shouldn’t have to endure something like this at a young age. It is unfair to have to try to understand the inexplicable extent of the evil that seeks to destroy families and the human spirit.”

Carter called Buzbee an “ambulance chaser” in a “cheap suit” and said his heart went out to the “real victims” whose stories were being twisted for a lawyer’s financial gain.

“You made a terrible error in judgment by thinking all ‘celebrities’ were the same. I don’t come from your world. I’m a young man who made it out of the Brooklyn projects. We don’t play games like that. We have a very strict honor code,” adds Carter. “We protect children, you seem to be exploiting people for personal gain. Only our network of conspiracy theorists, Fake Physics, will believe the idiotic claims you have made against me, which, were it not for the seriousness of harming children, would be ridiculous.”

Carter ends the emotional statement with a final message to Buzbee.

“I’m excited to show you how different I am.”
