Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown Revenge Tour for Celtics

Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown Revenge Tour for Celtics

Jayson Tatum has developed into a superstar-level player in just eight years. At the tender age of 26, Tatum is a five-time All-Star, four-time All-NBA winner, two-time Olympic gold medalist and, most importantly, NBA champion with the storied Boston Celtics franchise.

But something isn’t going right for Tatum.

Jaylen Brown, Tatum’s teammate, is a star in his own right. He is a three-time All-Star, one-time All-NBA, Finals MVP and also an NBA champion.

But something isn’t going right for Brown.

It’s definitely not the contracts as they currently have the highest guaranteed contracts in NBA history.

It’s the respect.

Jaylen Brown is always compared to Robin, Tatum to Batman. Brown takes this in stride as his main focus is winning and winning more championships with the Celtics. He knows he’s a partner, and when his number is called, he usually delivers.

This was evident when he was named MVP of the NBA Finals last year. And yet, despite being one of the brightest young stars, a Finals MVP and an NBA champion, he wasn’t called up to represent the United States at the Olympics. He had to watch from home as his teammates Tatum, Jrue Holiday and Derrick White played in Paris.

Jayson Tatum, fresh off his great playoff run that resulted in winning the NBA Championship, was ready to do it again for Team USA. With already a gold medal and a lot of experience at all levels, he was ready to lead the team. Coach Steve Kerr had other plans.

Tatum was benched in two games and only played 11 minutes in the last game against France. In the games he was allowed to play in, he was only able to muster just over 5 PPG. That’s a far cry from the 26.9 PPG he put up in 2023.

This year the Revenge Tour begins

The Celtics are riding strong with a record of 22-7, good for 2nd place in the Eastern Conference Finals. Barring injuries, there’s a good chance they’ll be represented and win two titles in a row.

Despite everything, keep an eye on your newbies. If you’ve ever thought about acquiring one of these players for your collection or as an investment, now might be the time to do it.

According to Cardladder.com, Tatum’s 2017 Prizm RC (#16) PSA 10 base averaged $101 last month.

Both cards appear to be at a great price considering other stars are selling for significantly higher amounts.

The Boston Celtics have one of the deepest rosters. They are ready to repeat this year and possibly be successful in the years to come. Being a champion solidifies your place in the discussion of greatness. Tatum and Brown are young, they have accomplished a lot in a short period of time. And yet they are hungry for more.
