Jets hand Jaguars their 11th loss of the season

The Jacksonville Jaguars took on the New York Jets in Week 15. The fight for a fourth win for both the Jaguars and Jets started well for the Jaguars.

On 13 drives and a few advantageous penalties against the Jets, Mac Jones scored on Brian Thomas Jr. for the game’s first score. After no receptions to start Week 14, Jones made sure to find the Jaguars’ star wide receiver.

The Jets didn’t stay down for long, however, as they put together a successful first drive of their game, offsetting the Jaguars’ touchdown with a touchdown pass to Garrett Wilson. The game’s two-star wide receivers started their games well.

The score for the first quarter would remain unchanged at 7-7, and neither team added another touchdown before the end of the first quarter. The Jets would gain possession of the football early in the second quarter, but would be unable to move it down the field and kick it away.

The Jaguars’ main attack in the second quarter was an impressive push into the Jets end zone, but the Jets defense came through when New York needed it. The 18-play drive for the Jaguars, the most plays in a drive this year resulted in a score for the Jaguars, and 11:07 of possession resulted in a field goal, 10-7 Jaguars before the Jets got the ball before the Game got two-minute warning mark.

The Jaguars would force the Jets to punt the ball away for the second time in the first half of the game, a change from what the Jacksonville defense is used to this season. The Jaguars would also make another good attempt to get back into field goal position and build an additional three-point cushion by halftime. 13-7 Jacksonville.

The Jets’ offense marched all the way to the Jaguars’ red zone, but that’s where the Jaguars’ defense came into play, too. After sacking Rodgers for a loss of yardage, the Jets got back into the game with a successful field goal. The Jaguars still led 13-10.

The Jaguars didn’t want the Jets to defend any further, so every field goal the Jets made up to that point, the Jaguars tied. And they did it again, with another touchdown the Jaguars extended their lead to 16-10.

Davanate Adams pushed the Jets’ offense into the end zone, but the Jaguars caught a massive break when the referees reversed the touchdown decision. But they were only able to hold them off a few seconds longer as the Jets took the lead on their seven-play, 70-yard drive. 17-16 jets.

Jones and the rest of the Jaguars offense, now down, tried to regain the lead. But their hopes of driving after the Jets took the lead were short-lived as the Jets forced the Jaguars to punt the ball away, giving the Jets a good chance to extend their lead in the fourth quarter.

Early in the fourth quarter, with possession of the ball, the Jets forced a punt on fourth down. The Jaguars made sure to regain their lead thanks to another touchdown from Brian Thomas Jr.; The Jaguars took the lead right back. 22-17 Jacksonville led with 11 minutes to play.

The Jets’ bad luck would continue, with wide receivers missing touchdowns and a missed field goal attempt, the Jaguars were in prime position to avoid this game.

But the Jets gave the Jets the lead after Rodgers again found Adams for a long touchdown, his second of the game, and added insult to injury by completing the two-point conversion. With 3:24 minutes left in the game, the Jets took the lead again at 25:22.

The field goal frenzy continued for the Jaguars as they secured their fourth field goal of the game and tied the game at 25 with under two minutes to play. Davanate Adams’ play continued for the Jets as he once again found the best routes to get the Jets into enemy territory. Breece Hall finished the job, giving the Jets a 32-25 lead with 1:05 left.

Jones would go to work trying to score a touchdown for the Jaguars to get back into the game with less than a minute to play. Once further down the field, Jones threw an interception, ending the Jaguars’ fight for a comeback.

Final score for Week 15: Jets 32, Jaguars 25.
