The Los Angeles Lakers desperately need wins – lots of them. After losing 97-87 to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday, they have lost eight of their last 11 games and have fallen to 10th place in the crowded Western Conference with a record of 13-12.

The rest of her schedule this month, while not terribly daunting, isn’t exactly easy either. They host the spirited Memphis Grizzlies, who are in second place in the West, on Sunday, then face the Sacramento Kings three times, as well as the Golden State Warriors on Christmas Day and 4/22. on the Cleveland Cavaliers New Year’s Eve.

LeBron James missed the Lakers’ last two games due to foot soreness, but mysteriously left the team on Wednesday. Head coach JJ Redick said the absence was excused and due to “personal reasons,” and before Friday’s game he responded with a simple “no” when asked if he knew when the superstar would return, according to Jovan Buha from The Athletic.

James has recently endured arguably the toughest phase of his career. During a six-game span, he shot just 39.8% from the field and was 3 of 30 from 3-point range, failing to reach the 20-point mark five times during that span. He returned to form by scoring an efficient 68 points in his last two contests combined, but many feel he is exhausted and in desperate need of rest.
