JLab’s sleek $200 Epic Lux Lab Edition wireless headphones pack top-notch features

For years JLab has been synonymous with budget audio, but recently it’s been making inroads into the mid- to high-end market. The latest product from this initiative was introduced at CES 2025: the Epic Lux Lab Edition wireless noise-cancelling headphones, whose sleek design reminds me of luxury models from Bowers & Wilkins, Sennheiser and Sony. However, in keeping with JLab’s focus on affordable pricing, these new cans cost just $200 and are available for pre-order starting January 6th. Shipping is expected to begin on January 30th.

Many of the Epic Lux Lab Edition’s features and specifications will seem familiar to those with an eye on the wireless headphone space, such as: E.g.: 32mm dynamic drivers, spatial audio with head tracking, Bluetooth Multipoint, Google Fast Pair and Find My Device feature. They are also the first JLab headphones to offer adaptive noise cancellation and transparency modes.

But what really helps these cans stand out from the biggest brands is their massive battery life (claimed to be 90+ hours of playtime with ANC off and 60+ hours with ANC on) and their “LabShare Mode” that lets you share your Sharing audio data is another Lux headphone owner and its ability to charge both wirelessly and via USB-C. JLab even includes a wireless charging mat in the box.

I’ve seen wireless charging on headsets, like this Cyber Acoustics model, and I also found this Onanoff model that comes with a wireless charging stand, but the Epic Lux Lab Edition is the first set of ANC headphones, I’ve come across one that works with a normal wireless charger.

The company claims that the ANC system uses AI to filter different sound frequencies in real-time, resulting in a reduction in outside noise by up to 42 dB. Calls are handled via four beamforming microphones (two on each ear cup) combined with JLab’s ENC (Environmental Noise Canceling) algorithm.

You’ll get lossless Hi-Res performance when listening over a wired connection, while Android users will get Hi-Res wireless performance when using the available LDAC Bluetooth codec.

The Epic Lux Lab Edition comes with a hard-shell zippered carrying case and two cables (USB-C for charging and USB-C to 3.5mm for analog listening).
