X, formerly known as Twitter, is in turmoil after a viral tweet revealed that Joseph Budden Jr., known as Joe Budden, 44, was charged with indecency following an unusual incident earlier this month.

On December 29, 2024, a Twitter account called @TheOctoberFilm posted a screenshot of Budden’s arrest report with the caption:

“Recent news:
@JoeBudden has a court date of Jan. 16 on charges of indecency, a charge related to sexual misconduct or indecency in public. He had previously claimed that the JBP had to move into a residential building to accommodate it, but there appears to be more to the story. Stay tuned.”

The post quickly gained traction:

On December 30, 2024, the Edgewater Police Department issued a press release detailing the December 4 event. According to the statement, officers were called to an apartment complex in Edgewater around 7:21 a.m. after a resident reported a disturbing incident.

The caller, alerted by his doorbell camera, saw his neighbor, identified as Joe Budden Jr., standing completely naked in front of his apartment door. The video allegedly shows Budden attempting to enter a code into the resident’s door keypad several times before retreating to his own apartment across the hall.

After an investigation, Budden Jr. was charged with lewdness, a disorderly person offense under New Jersey law (2C:14-4a).

Edgewater Police Chief Martin emphasized in the press release:
“These allegations are allegations only and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.”

Joe Budden Jr. is scheduled to appear in court on January 16, 2025.
