Joe Burrow’s house was broken into during Monday Night Football in Dallas

CINCINNATI (WXIX) — While Bengals star Joe Burrow was in Dallas for “Monday Night Football,” his Anderson Township home was broken into, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office confirmed the break-in occurred Monday just after 8 p.m.

Olivia Ponton, a model and social media influencer, arrived at his Anderson Township home to find a broken bedroom window and a “ransacked room,” according to an incident report from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

Olivia Ponton then called her mother, Diane Ponton, who called 911, according to the incident report.

Hamilton County dispatch received the call, with Diane Ponton telling them that Olivia Ponton was at Burrow’s home when the break-in occurred, according to a recording of the call.

“Someone’s trying to break into the house right now,” Diane Ponton can be heard telling dispatch. “My daughter is here. This is Joe Burrow’s house. She stays there; He’s at the football game.”

“She said someone was in the house,” Diane Ponton told dispatch.

Olivia Ponton was identified in the incident report as an employee of Burrow’s.

When the break-in was reported to 911, a security guard was already at Burrow’s home, the Hamilton County dispatcher told the caller.

As officers looked around the home, an officer said the suspects were no longer there. Officers spoke with neighbors to obtain surveillance video of the possible suspects.

The break-in at Burrow’s home came not long after the NFL issued a security memo about recent home break-ins, the Associated Press reported Nov. 21.

The league’s memo came after the homes of Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce were broken into.

The NFL said professional athletes’ homes are “increasingly targeted by organized and skilled groups,” according to the AP.

It is unclear whether the break-in at Burrow’s home is related to the groups suspected of targeting professional athletes.

The AP wrote: “Officials noted that these groups target homes on days when athletes have games.”

Burrow and the Bengals were in Dallas on Monday.

Mahomes and Kelce’s homes were broken into before and on the day of the Chiefs’ home game against the New Orleans Saints on Oct. 7, the AP said.

A spokesman for the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office said it is not believed the Burrow burglary is related to these other burglaries.

FOX19 NOW reached out to the FBI’s Cincinnati Division to ask if they are investigating this break-in. The office said it could neither confirm nor deny an ongoing investigation.
