John Cena on farewell tour, which begins Monday with “WWE Raw” on Netflix

Netflixs WWE Raw Monday night marks the beginning of a new era for WWE and marks the end of John Cena’s wrestling career.

Starting Monday, Netflix will be the exclusive home of World Wrestling Entertainment’s weekly pro wrestling competition in the US, Canada, UK and Latin America. Netflix noted the program’s debut– officially known as WWE Monday Night Raw– it is the first time in its 31-year history that the program will be streamed.

Accordingly The Associated Pressthe weekly streaming of WWE Raw is part of a 10-year, $5 billion agreement Netflix reached with WWE in January 2024. Netflix has the option to extend the contract in five years.

Cena is among the wrestlers set to appear in the Netflix debut of WWE Raw along with the likes of Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, CM Punk and Bianca Belair. WWE Monday Night Raw will stream live on Netflix from the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles on Monday at 5:00 p.m. PT / 8:00 p.m. ET.

Per ESPNCena announced in July 2024 that he would retire with a WWE farewell tour in 2025 and wrestle between 30 and 40 wrestling matches by the end of the year. Cena has quit wrestling part-time while he continues to work on his budding acting career.

In 2024 alone, Cena – whose acting roles include films like Train wreck, bumblebee, The Suicide Squad and its spin-off streaming series Peacemaker– starred in the films Argylle, Ricky Stanicky, Jackpot! And Die Hart 2: Die Harter. He also had a guest appearance on the hit series The bear in 2024.

During a Zoom call before the release of Jackpot! In August, Cena was full of excitement and anticipation – not sadness – about the start of his WWE swansong, officially called “The Last Time is Now John Cena Farewell Tour.”

“The goal here is ‘happy’ and ‘fun.’ It’s not sad,” Cena told me. “I’m sure there will be a lot of emotions. There are always a lot of emotions involved in every performance I perform, but the goal is to bring people together and take away great memories.”

At some point between his The Last Time is Now John Cena Farewell Tour matches, Cena will return to his role as Christopher Smith – aka Peacemaker Peacemaker Season 2 of the DC Comics series about Max. An official release date has not yet been announced, but it is expected to be released sometime in 2025.
