John Mulaney will do a lot for his loved ones, but a round trip flight to grab a piece of mail? Maybe not.

When appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers On Friday, December 20, host Seth Meyers asked how his wife Olivia Munn’s mother, Kim Munn, was doing and – of course – this Saturday Night Live alum, 42, gave a life update by sharing a hilarious story.

“She’s fine. She lives with us in California,” Mulaney told Meyers, 50. “I’m not sure how long this will last and – or why it’s really happening.”

After Kim moved in with the family, the comedian continued, “She got a real estate bill for her house in Oklahoma.”

To secure the mail, she asked Mulaney for a small favor – a round-trip flight.

“She asked me if I would book her a plane ticket back to Oklahoma to get the envelope out of the mailbox and then fly back,” he explained, eliciting a giggle from Meyers.

A confused Mulaney then asked Kim why she didn’t ask her sister — who is also her neighbor in Oklahoma — to just mail the bill to her current address in California, to which she apparently replied, “I don’t want it,” so far travel. But I don’t like my mail traveling that far.

So the comedian offered another solution. At the time, Kim’s husband wanted to return to Oklahoma, so he figured, “Why don’t you give him the check and he’ll fly back and mail it?”

“And she said, ‘I don’t want my check flying on the plane,'” Mulaney recalls. “So she wanted a round-trip ticket to post a letter in Oklahoma.”

After a pause to laugh, Meyers then teased, “So it sounds like things are going pretty well,” and Mulaney agreed, “Yeah, things are going well.” It’s minute by minute.”

However, he did not reveal whether and how Kim ultimately got her real estate bill.
