Johnny Depp “considers returning Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean 6” | Movies | Entertainment

It’s been almost eight years since Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow sailed off into the sunset at the end of the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean film.

The 61-year-old star has since been fired from Disney after his ex-wife Amber Heard made allegations of domestic violence, which the actor strenuously denies.

But after winning a libel case against her in the US, fans are still hoping he will return in Pirates of the Caribbean 6, which Depp had planned as a fitting send-off for his beloved character.

During the trial, the star said he wouldn’t reciprocate Sparrow even for hundreds of millions of dollars with Disney.

But a few years after the dust settled and with all the fan enthusiasm surrounding the idea, it now seems even more likely, especially because the star says he holds no grudges.

The insider told us at the time: “The future is as deep and dark as Jack Sparrow’s mysterious, murky waters of the deep blue sea.” The future of Disney production is as mysterious as a pirate’s treasure map. Putting Johnny Depp in the role again and properly promoting it would be hard to top and a godsend for the franchise. I’m sure Jack Sparrow longs for his deserted islands. The character longs to continue his journey into unknown oceans, but the incredibly talented actor must navigate many scripts and decide whether Jack Sparrow deserves a second life.”

The source also warned that Disney studio bosses need to listen closely to what fans of their franchises want after recent failures at Marvel and Star Wars.
