Justin Tucker’s missed shots hurt the Ravens again in their loss to the Eagles

Justin Tucker’s brutal season reached a new low Sunday night at M&T Bank Stadium.

For the first time in his 13-year career, Tucker missed three kicks in a game, hurting the Ravens in a 24-19 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Tucker missed field goals from 47 and 53 yards in the third quarter, plus an extra point in the first quarter.

He has now made 19 of 27 field goal attempts this season and has missed two extra points. His field goal percentage of 70% is by far a career low. His lowest percentage ever was 82.5% in 2015, his fourth season.

Tucker’s miss in the 47th minute went wide to the left and his extra point went past the left post. The 53-yard miss went right wide – Tucker’s first missed right shot this season.

Tucker had previously said that he kept aiming to the right because the ball kept going left. However, his final miss remained outside the posts.

At the end of the first half, Tucker did score a 50-yard field goal, but that was no consolation at the end of the game.

After Tucker missed two field goals in the Ravens’ 18-16 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers two weeks ago, head coach John Harbaugh said there was no thought of inviting the kickers to a tryout.

The Ravens had every confidence that the man they long believed would be the GOAT would turn things around. It hasn’t happened yet and time is running out this season.
