We may have seen the last of Kari Lake in Arizona politics.

The former FOX 10 Phoenix anchor gave up

Lake was asked at America Fest earlier this month whether she would run for governor again if the position is up for election in 2026. Lake instead focused her response on helping President-elect Donald Trump.

Current Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs (D) beat Lake in the 2022 election by a fraction of 1 percentage point, 50.3% to 49.6%.

Lake never admitted defeat, even after certification and the legal battle that went all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court.

In November 2024, Lake settled a defamation lawsuit with Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer over statements claiming the 2022 election would be called in 2022 Arizona was manipulated.

The details of this agreement have not been released to the public.
