On the other hand, Barrett tried to lead his new team past his previous five-season squad by scoring 30 points, eight rebounds and four assists while shooting 54 percent from the field.

After a 5-0 start for the Raptors, OG Anunoby scored the first goal for the Knicks with a three-pointer off an assist from Bridges. The Knicks rallied and took a 34-27 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The Raptors responded by outscoring the Knicks 34-26 in the second quarter, capped by two free throws from Scottie Barnes, giving Toronto a 61-60 halftime lead.

Towns scored 10 points at halftime, while Bridges and Brunson each had nine points. Barrett led the Raptors with 17 points at halftime.

After halftime, Brunson hit back-to-back shots to give the Knicks a 64-61 lead. The game remained closely contested as both teams traded baskets as the game progressed.

RJ Barrett tied the game at 108-108 with 42 seconds left in the fourth quarter. His efforts failed, however, as Towns scored five points in the final 36 seconds, securing the Knicks’ victory and ending Barrett’s hopes of revenge.

The Knicks will look to continue their winning streak at home against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday.
