Nominated for Best Performance by a Female Actress in a Television Series Drama for her work on MatlockLooking radiant as ever, Bates, 76, debuted a trendy new look at Sunday’s ceremony, where she hit the carpet in chic pants and sneakers!

Bates turned heads in a beautifully beaded tuxedo that was cinched in at her waist, paired with black tuxedo pants and a glittering evening bag. She styled her silver locks in a retro half-up style with lots of bounce. People Style Editors also got people talking about her choice of footwear (it looks like she’s wearing Sneex – a sneaker-heel hybrid from Spanx founder Sara Blakely).

Receiving nominations in the same category as Bates is Emma D’Arcy (House of the Dragon), Maya Erskine (Mr and Mrs Smith), Keira Knightley (Black pigeons), Keri Russell (The diplomat) and Anna Sawai (Shogun) this year.

Bates’ memorable red carpet appearance comes after she showed off her 100-pound, seven-year weight loss at the 2024 Emmys on Sept. 15.

The office Alum wore a deep purple dress with black beads by Giorgio Armani, a black handbag and pointed heels for the event.

When discussing her experience finding the evening’s outfit, she told PEOPLE that she and her friend, who was at the fitting, “were in tears because everything I came out in was just exquisite.” looked like.”

Because of her confidence in the dress, she told PEOPLE that she “just felt so relaxed and ready” for the event.

“I knew I felt great and looked great. We had a wonderful little sketch with Antony (Starr) and Giancarlo (Esposito). It was a wonderful evening. “This evening was really special,” she said.

Bates has been very open about her weight loss journey.

She told PEOPLE that she initially lost 80 pounds due to lifestyle and diet changes. She then lost another 20 pounds using Ozempic.

Bates said she was inspired to get serious about her health when she was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes around 2017.

“There was a lot of talk about how I only did this because of Ozempic. But I have to make it clear to people out there that this was hard work for me, especially during the pandemic,” she said. “It’s very hard to say you’ve had enough.”

The actress is no newcomer to the Golden Globes. She won her first Golden Globe in 1991 for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture Drama misery.

At the 48th Golden Globe Awards, she wore a chic black dress with silver and white beaded embroidery.

Although she received more nominations years later, she received her second Golden Globe in 1997 when she won for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Limited Series or Television Movie for her work on the film The late shift.

Bates attended the 54th Golden Globe Awards in a dazzling blood red blazer and black dress pants.
