Keanu Reeves, who portrays Shadow the Hedgehog in the new film Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Film, says there’s a reason they’re moving forward with this John Wick Franchise may not be viable. According to Comic Book, Reeves, 60, said in a new interview on CBS This Morning that the franchise has taken a toll on his body.

“You can never say never, but right now my knees are saying, “There’s nothing else you can do.” John Wick‘” Reeves said about a potential John Wick 5. “My heart can do it, but I don’t know if my knees can do it,” Reeves said of playing the title character in the film.

Reeves appeared on the show Sonic3 Director Jeff Fowler, who joked that the actor’s knees were no excuse to sit out the future sound Films as a voice actor. “You heard it here first: Keanu will be playing Shadow for the next 20 yearssaid Fowler.

Reeves plays a retired assassin struggling with grief John Wick Franchise. The latest film, John Wick: Chapter 4, Premiering in 2023. The films have also spawned a TV spin-off, The Continental: From the world of John Wick, and a spin-off film, From the world of John Wick: Ballerina, which will be released on June 6, 2025.

John Wick Franchise director Chad Stahelski previously said he had no interest in moving past the fourth film, although there was interest. Len Wiseman (Sleepy Hollow) took over directing duties for Ballerina, what happens in between John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum And John Wick: Chapter 4. In this film, Reeves will return as Wick.

A Caine spinoff is coming

An untitled Caine spinoff starring Donnie Yen in the role of blind assassin Caine is also in the works. Lionsgate confirmed a Caine spinoff in May via The Hollywood Reporter. The film will follow in Caine’s footsteps after the fourth part wick Film. The project was teased in a post-credits scene by John Wick: Chapter 4. Yen spoke about playing Caine in a previous interview and said he was doing it “An incredible character with a checkered past.”

Reeves’ turn as the anti-hero character Shadow the Hedgehog will soon be released to the masses Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Premieres in theaters on December 20th. Reeves together with colleagues Sonic3 Star Idris Elba, who plays Knuckles the Echidna in the film, is already planning a Shadow/Knuckles spinoff.

Elba and Reeves recently said in a conversation with Comic Book that they would be excited about the opportunity to do a crossover project called Something Like That shadow knuckles, but Reeves said, “No, Knuckles and shadows.” Elba then nodded in agreement and said, “Shadow Knuckles sounds like a band.”

The first three films in the John Wick Franchises are streaming on Pluto. John Wick: 4 is streaming on Starz.
