Rapper Kendrick Lamar is headed to his biggest Detroit concert yet: a June 10 date at Ford Field.

R&B singer SZA will open the show, part of Lamar’s just-announced Grand National Tour, which will take the pair through 19 North American stadiums from April 19 in Minneapolis to June 18 in Washington, DC

Tickets for the Kendrick Lamar-SZA tour will be available to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday through Ticketmaster, following a presale for Cash App cardholders from 10 a.m. Wednesday through 10 p.m. Thursday.

K-Dot’s Grand National Tour follows his long, globe-trotting Big Steppers run, which took him to Little Caesars Arena in 2022 and concluded earlier this year.

The Ford Field date brings Lamar to Detroit’s largest venue years after his first visits here to intimate spaces like the Shelter and Hamtramck’s Holbrook Cafe.

The 17-time Grammy winner will tour in support of his new album “GNX,” which reached the top of the Billboard 200 upon its release in November. The tour’s name is inspired by the album title: a reference to the 1987 Buick Grand National Regal GNX, the car Lamar’s father drove after the rapper was born.

Kendrick Lamar has released a surprise album "GNX" on November 22, 2024.

Tuesday’s tour announcement comes amid an ongoing, headline-generating saga with Drake that has spawned several diss tracks, including Lamar’s spring single “Not Like Us,” one of the biggest viral hits of 2024.

And it comes ahead of his headlining halftime performance at Super Bowl LIX on February 9th.

Lamar’s visit to Ford Field in June will be the fourth show in 2025 at the home of the Detroit Lions, following Billy Joel-Stevie Nicks (March 29), AC/DC (April 30) and Post Malone-Jelly Roll (May 18). .
