Kerry Washington brought a serious dose of sparkle to late-night television with her appearance on “Late Night With Seth Meyers” in New York City on Monday. The actress spoke about her upcoming Tyler Perry-directed World War II film The Six Triple Eight.

Washington opted for a shimmering cocktail dress with a round, plunging neckline. The flowy, sleeveless look features thin straps and a subtly cinched waist that gives the dress more definition.

The Scandal alum paired the look with pointed heels. Washington accessorized with sparkly pieces, including a few rings and a delicate bracelet. When it came to her glamour, the actress preferred a classic aesthetic and wore berry lipstick and smokey eyes. Her long locks were styled with a center part and flowing waves.

Washington often works with the styling team of Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn. Before her appearance on “Late Night With Seth Meyers,” Washington joined A-list guests as well as the cast and creative team behind “The Six Triple Eight” at the film’s red carpet premiere in Los Angeles.

For the star-studded occasion, Washington wore a shimmering Prada dress. The coral dress featured a boat neckline and shimmering metallic silver embellishments embroidered onto the fabric. Her glam for the premiere included a voluminous bob with a center part, styled by Takisha Sturdivant-Drew and makeup by artist Carola Gonzalez.

Washington was joined at the premiere by co-star Oprah Winfrey. The former talk show host and journalist opted for a suit look and wore solid colored clothing for the special occasion.

Based on a true story, “The Six Triple Eight” follows the women of the 6888th Central Postal Directory – the only colored unit in the Women’s Army Corps stationed in Europe during World War II. Under duress and fear of discrimination, 855 women participated in wartime efforts to clear a three-year backlog of undelivered mail. The film will stream on Netflix on Friday.
