Key Bengals player receives bad injury news ahead of showdown with Steelers

CINCINNATI – Bengals running back Chase Brown tried to warm up before the game but appeared frustrated after trying to make a few cuts, according to NFL Network’s Bridget Condon.

“Brown tried to do some cutting drills, shook his head and is now leaving the field,” Condon tweeted.

It’s no surprise. The second-year running back suffered a severe ankle sprain against the Broncos last week.

Look for Khalil Herbert at running back, while Trayveon Williams and Kendall Milton are also active Saturday night against the Steelers. Brown has been a big bright spot this season, but it doesn’t look like he will be healthy enough to play.

Update: Brown has been ruled out, according to Jordan Schultz. Check out all of the Bengals’ inactives ahead of Saturday’s game here.
