Well, that will be the case when the New England Patriots at least host the Los Angeles Chargers.

Stevenson’s demotion at Gillette Stadium follows a loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 16 in which he made a costly fumble in the second half. It was Stevenson’s seventh of the season, and no other running back has fumbled the ball more than him this season.

Gibson continues to be strong for the Patriots. The veteran, who signed with New England last offseason, averaged 4.5 yards per carry in Week 17, with nine of his 19 catches going for first downs.

It remains to be seen how the Patriots will use Stevenson against the Bolts. After all, Stevenson was left out of the starting lineup in Week 5 due to early-season fumble issues, but still played 47% of the offensive snaps in that contest.
