Khalil Mack is still undecided about his future as a footballer

Khalil Mack played 11 seasons. He has never been an unrestricted free agent but is scheduled to become one in March.

However, the Chargers edge rusher doesn’t yet know if he will commit to playing a 12th season.

“Man, this is it lots of different thoughts in my head,” Mack said Sunday, via ESPN’s Kris Rhim. “I can’t really make a final decision about what I’m going to do because I don’t know if I’m going to play football in the future, so there are some things I need to discuss.” My wife, spend some time with my children and try not to make hasty decisions after a loss.”

Mack, 33, said he has no timetable for making a decision about his future.

He has never won a playoff game and has lost all five postseason games he has played in his career. Mack thought Saturday would be the deciding one, but the Texans defeated the Chargers 32-12 despite two sacks from Mack.

Mack said he still believes his best chance to win is with the Chargers, but he doesn’t have a contract for 2025.

“As long as Justin Herbert is your quarterback. “You’ve got (safety) Derwin James and all these guys that love the game of football and Jim Harbaugh as a coach,” Mack said. “You know you always have a chance to win. Yes, that’s a given.”
