Kings vs. Grizzlies prediction, odds and best NBA prop bets for Thursday, December 5th

Kings vs. Grizzlies prediction, odds and best NBA prop bets for Thursday, December 5th

The Sacramento Kings snapped a losing streak in the NBA Cup duel against the Houston Rockets on Tuesday night, but they face a difficult away game against Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday.

Memphis blew a second-half lead against the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday, ending its six-game winning streak.

Still, the Grizzlies are 14-8 this season and are in the top four of the Western Conference heading into this matchup.

The Kings expected to take a step forward this season with DeMar DeRozan, but through the first 22 games they ranked just 14th in the NBA in net rating and 18th in defensive rating.

Here’s a breakdown of tonight’s odds, players to watch in the prop market, and my best bet for this Western Conference game.

Kings Best NBA Prop Bets

Kings big man Domantas Sabonis has had a high ball rate this season, particularly in the last seven games since his return from a two-game absence.

During that span, Sabonis scored 21 or more points in six games, increasing his season average to 21.0 points per game while shooting 62.4 percent from the field.

Overall, Sabonis has mastered this prop with a hit rate of 65 percent, scoring in 13 of his 20 games.

The Grizzlies’ best NBA prop bets

After a series of downscoring games, Bane bounced back and hit 14 and 15 shots in his last two games, scoring 16 and 19 points, respectively. While he’s still averaging just 14.3 points per game on the season, he has a favorable result when it comes to his scoring average on Thursday night.

The Kings rank 20th in the NBA in opponent points per game and 19th in defensive rating, meaning we could see a high-scoring game in this one. As long as Bane is around 15 shots, 15.5 points is far too low for him on Thursday.

This is only the fifth time this season that the Kings have been considered underdogs on the road, and so far they are 3-1 against the team on the road.

Even though the Kings don’t appear to be great in terms of basketball record, they still have a positive net rating and are 7th in the NBA in offensive rating. DeRozan has also missed some time, so his trio of De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis may still need some growing.

Meanwhile, Memphis has been hot lately, posting the ninth-best net rating in the NBA over the last 10 games. In the same stretch, the Kings are just 3-7 ahead.

The Grizzlies are 7-4 as home favorites this season, but I’m going with the total for this matchup – specifically the OVER.

Both teams rank in the NBA’s top seven in offensive rating, and Memphis is second in the league in points per game. The Kings (11th in points per game) are also giving up 113.9 points per game this season.

Let’s fight for points between two powerful Western Conference teams.

Selection: OVER 241.5 (-110)
