Kristaps Porzingis news, Jrue Holiday, more

On Friday night, the Boston Celtics completely defeated the Indiana Pacers at TD Garden. They cruised to a 142-105 win and snapped a two-game skid that included losses to the Orlando Magic and Philadelphia 76ers. With the series tied at 1-1, the Celtics will look to beat Indiana again on Sunday.

The Pacers will try to prevent that. Indiana was completely shut down on Friday, falling victim to one of Jaylen Brown’s best plays of the season. He scored a season-high 44 points and Boston’s defense stifled the Pacers’ offense, which was among the league’s best last season.

Neither Kristaps Porzingis still Jrue holiday played in the Celtics’ win over the Pacers on Friday night and both are out until Sunday with the same injuries.

Porzingis rolled his ankle on Christmas Day against the Sixers, so he’s dealing with the remnants of that problem. Since returning from offseason foot surgery, the big Latvian has struggled with a myriad of lower-body problems, most recently a sprained ankle.

Meanwhile, Holiday has been on the injury report several times this year, and this time it’s his shoulder that’s giving him trouble.

Rookie two-way player Anthony Watson will miss Sunday due to a strained left adductor muscle. He spent most of this season in Maine with Boston’s G League squad.

Indiana’s injury report closely resembles the one released before Friday’s game.

Obi Toppin missed Friday’s game with an ankle problem and is questionable for Sunday.

Aaron Nesmith, James WisemanAnd Isaiah Jackson will miss Sunday evening due to long-term injuries.

Nesmith is still weeks away from returning from his ankle problem, while both Wiseman and Jackson are out for the season with torn Achilles tendons.
