Very few people have ever admitted that they had a great weekend in Starkville, Mississippi. This doesn’t apply to the KSR crew – because we have never left the place with a defeat.

Steven Peake and I left a few days early to avoid the snowstorm, giving us plenty of time to kill. We stopped on Thursday evening to do Mellow Mushroom trivia in Decatur (a stunning victory for the good guys, in case you were curious) before arriving in Starkville at midnight. That led to a silly campus tour on Friday, which can be found on our KSR YouTube channel, followed by some College Football Playoff action at the local watering hole – while we were there, MSU coach Chris Jans also stopped by to to drink a glass of wine there.

From there, it was time for game day, talking to students camped out at Humphrey Coliseum for the anticipated matchup, followed by that evening’s heavyweight bout. You know the rest of the story: Kentucky defeated Mississippi State with a 95-90 win, led by Jaxson Robinson having a career night. The Hump rocked, but the Cats were able to overcome a lot of adversity and secure the win.

It was a huge anniversary and KSR was right there to capture everything. Peake absolutely DESTROYED it with a behind-the-scenes look you won’t see anywhere else.
