NEW DELHI: At just 18 years and 270 days Kwena Maphaka has already made his mark in South African cricket history as the youngest ever Test player for the Proteas, breaking a record set almost three decades ago.
His Test debut against Pakistan reflected a fiercely competitive player and raised expectations for his future achievements.
These aspirations include his potential role in the Paarl Royals in the coming one SA20 seasona team full of talented individuals and championship ambitions.
Although he missed the SA20 2024 due to his commitments with the U19 World Cupwhere he took a record-breaking 21 wickets, Maphaka remains an integral part of the Royals’ plans, as evidenced by their intention to retain the star.
