Kylie Kelce reveals Tinder pick-up line she used on husband Jason – and he told her to ‘try harder’

It was hardly love at first sight Jason Kelce and his wife, Kylie Kelce.

“(My friends and I) were just messing around so I swiped right,” Kylie, 32, said when she took to the Tinder account on the Sunday, January 12, episode of the “Sunday Sports Club” podcast her current husband. “We got together (and) I sent him a pick-up line. I said, ‘I need LifeAlert.'” I’m in love with you and I can’t get up.'”

Jason, 37, apparently wasn’t a fan of Kylie’s opening line.

“He wrote back and said, ‘No, you need to try harder,'” Kylie recalled of her NFL colleague Allison Kuch. “Then I wrote, ‘If I told you I worked for UPS.’ Would you let me handle your package?’ He said, ‘Much better.’ I like that much better.’ … And here we are, almost four kids later.”

Jason and Kylie met on the dating app in 2015 during his early tenure as a center with the Philadelphia Eagles. At the time, Kylie was a student at Cabrini University, but it wasn’t until they met in person that she realized the extent of Jason’s professional soccer career. (He retired in 2024 after playing 14 seasons for the Philly team.)

“His Tinder bio said he wanted to cuddle and have intimate conversations about having a baby, and that was sarcastic but ended up being very ironic,” Kylie joked. “But then we continued exchanging messages and it was kind of like a playful getting-to-know-you (conversations) and after a while the thought kept coming to me that his photos looked familiar.”

Kylie and her friends had tried to find Jason online using “all the information they had,” which led them directly to the Eagles.

“My friends and I, of course, said, ‘That’s a catfish,'” the “Not Gonna Lie” podcast host recalled. “So when he said, ‘You should meet us at this bar,’ my only friend, who’s like my life-or-death friend…she was like, ‘We have to go because if he does.’ is, it’s hilarious (and) if it’s not him, it’s even funnier.”

Jason Kelce was “too drunk” on his first date with wife Kylie and was carried home by “fireman” Beau Allen

Kylie met up with Jason at a local Philly bar hours after his team Christmas party. As he mentioned on his and his brother’s Travis KelceWhen he appeared on the New Heights podcast several times, he fell asleep on the bar within 45 minutes. His teammate at the time Beau Allen was recruited to carry him home as a “fireman.”

Jason eventually apologized to Kylie for his drunkenness and asked for a second chance at a first impression, which ultimately went much more smoothly. According to Kylie, they chatted seamlessly for three hours – and continued chatting on subsequent dates.

“The year I was an RA (at Cabrini) … he came to campus and stayed in my dorm more than once,” Kylie remembers. “I had people say in class two days later, ‘Oh, so-and-so was talking about how they were walking at 8 a.m. and they just saw Jason Kelce walking across campus to go to his truck.’ I thought, ‘This man must really love me because why the hell else would he be on campus?'”

Jason and Kylie finally married in 2018, a year before they welcomed daughter Wyatt. Daughters Ellie and Bennett followed in 2021 and 2023 respectively and are currently expecting another baby girl in 2025.
