Kyren Lacy is wanted for a fatal hit-and-run that killed a 78-year-old man

Kyren Lacy, a former wide receiver at LSU and potential 2025 NFL draft pick, is charged in a Dec. 17 car accident that killed a former Marine.

According to ESPN and WAFB, Louisiana State Police issued an arrest warrant for the 24-year-old former Tigers player stemming from a December 17 car accident that killed a 78-year-old man named Herman Hall of Thibodaux, Louisiana Life came.

According to ESPN, Lacy is accused of causing the accident and then fleeing the scene without rendering aid or calling authorities and is charged with involuntary manslaughter, hit-and-run and reckless operation of a vehicle.

Police said Lacy was allegedly driving a 2023 Dodge Charger around 10 a.m. on Dec. 17 when he “recklessly passed multiple vehicles at a high rate of speed by crossing the center line and entering the northbound lane while was in a designated no-overtaking zone.” per WAFB.

The football player was allegedly “illegally passing the other vehicles” on Louisiana Highway 20 when a northbound pickup truck “abruptly braked and turned right to avoid a collision with Lacy’s Dodge Charger,” Louisiana State Police said in a news release with.

According to police’s statement to ESPN, behind the pickup was a 2017 Kia Cadenza. According to reports, the driver of that vehicle was “turning left to avoid the oncoming Dodge Charger” that Lacy was driving when it “crossed the center line and head-on.” collided with a southbound 2017 Kia Sorento.”

According to WAFB, Hall was a passenger in the Kia Sorento that was traveling southbound. The 78-year-old former Marine later died from injuries sustained in the accident.

After the collision, Lacy allegedly drove off and fled the scene “without stopping to render aid, call emergency services or report his involvement in the accident,” police said.

“Troopers are in contact with Lacy and his legal representation to turn himself in,” police said.

Two days after the crash, Lacy declared for the 2025 NFL Draft in a statement on social media.

“LSU has truly had a huge impact on my life on and off the field over the last three years,” Lacy wrote in the announcement.

“Not too many people manage to fulfill such a dream. I am eternally grateful for that,” he continued, thanking his coaches, support staff and trainers for “developing me as a football player, but above all as a person.”

Lacy promised to take “all of these life lessons” with her “into the next chapter of my life.”

Last season he had 58 catches for 866 yards and nine touchdowns. Lacy played two seasons at Louisiana before transferring to LSU in 2022.
