Lady A’s Hillary Scott reveals the secret to her nearly 13-year marriage to Chris Tyrrell

Lady A’s Hillary Scott continues to feel nothing but gratitude for her husband Chris Tyrrell.

“We’ll be married 13 years in January and I think it’s so interesting how we really balance each other so well,” Scott, 38, said exclusively Us weekly as she celebrated her new Christmas song “Hard to Wait for Christmas” with her 11-year-old daughter Eisele Kaye. “The gratitude I feel in my heart for him and our marriage and where we are now but also for what’s to come? I’m so happy he chose me.”

While the couple has their hands full raising three daughters, including six-year-old twins Betsy and Emory, Scott and Tyrrell continue to value quality time together.

“We try to have a date night at least once a month,” Scott said before taking the stage at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville on Dec. 5 for an Opry Country Christmas. “Twice a month we go out and have a small group with a group of couples and the drive there and home takes 40 minutes. Sometimes it’s the 40-minute drive, dinner and trip home that we just use to talk, share and be together.”

While romance is a priority, creating magical memories with their daughters is also high on Scott and Tyrrell’s to-do list.

This holiday season, the entire family came together to participate in the music video for Scott and Eisele’s Christmas song, “Hard to Wait for Christmas.”

“It feels like the most representative of our house every day, just the dance party,” Scott joked Us about the video. “One of the girls rolls around the house on roller skates and the other is on a scooter, and that’s totally our thing. If anyone’s wondering what it was like to be in our house, it was on set because that’s basically our home every day.”

If Mom or Dad needs a quick break to rest and recharge, there is no judgment. Scott was quick to credit Tyrrell for stepping in when she needed to refuel. If necessary, she is happy to do the same in return.
