Lainey Wilson makes a surprise return with Ian Bohen

Country star Lainey Wilson returned to “Yellowstone” in epic fashion with a major TV love affair with Ian Bohen in Sunday’s season five finale.

Wilson, 32, made her TV acting debut in the role of free-spirited musician Abby, who fell in love with bunkhouse cowboy Ryan (Ian Bohen) starting in the fifth season premiere in 2023.

The couple got hot and heavy before Ryan had to do his cowboy work in Texas and Abby had to do her musician work on the road. Wilson called the role written for her by “Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan “a dream come true.”

Fans have been calling for Abby’s return ever since the two TV lovers went their separate ways.

Well, hang in there, darling. There is a true love of the country. The cowboy couple reunited with Wilson’s return, providing one of the happiest moments in Sunday’s drama – which will reportedly mark the end of “Yellowstone.”

How did Lainey Wilson return to Yellowstone?

After Ryan leaves Abby to take care of the Dutton cattle in Texas, he decides not to continue the ranch, especially since the Yellowstone Ranch is closing. He ends up buying a general admission ticket to one of Abby’s concerts. It’s the only free seat, the ticket agent at the counter tells him. Abby clearly did almost as well as Wilson, who won five trophies at the 2023 Country Music Association Awards, becoming the first woman in over a decade to take home the top prize.

Ryan enters the concert to see Abby rocking Wilson’s hit “Hang Tight Honey.” about a touring artist who longs to be home with a loved one. Everyone’s standing in the honky-tonk venue, so the “sold out seat” thing might be hype. But we argue. Because it’s a rocking show and Ryan thinks, “Why did I ever leave it for cows in Texas?”

Shortly after Abby sings, “I’m headed right home to you,” she approaches Ryan, who admits, “I made a mistake. I picked the wrong thing.”
