Lamar Jackson makes history with his 37th touchdown pass

It’s clear that Lamar Jackson played his best football this season. Now he has another statistic to prove it.

Jackson set the new single-season franchise record for touchdown passes with his 37th of the season, breaking his own record from his 2019 MVP season.

Jackson broke the record with a 7-yard strike to Mark Andrews in the third quarter. It was his third passing touchdown in the Ravens’ 34-17 win over the rival Pittsburgh Steelers.

“I thought Lamar was fantastic, and that’s no small amount of pressure (from the Steelers),” head coach John Harbaugh said. “Our guys did a good job up front, but Lamar… He’s under pressure. This group always pounces on the passer. They will put pressure on you. He stood in there and made a few throws. He always does that.”

According to TruMedia, the Steelers were successful on 68% of Jackson’s dropbacks. That’s an incredibly high amount and the highest the Ravens have seen this season.

“I think we just stayed (true) to what we preached all week – just take it one play at a time, no matter what happens in the game, just move on to the next play,” Jackson said. “Things happened as the game went on where it looked like we might have a little setback, but we didn’t let anything faze us – penalties, the little turnovers here and there and when we got stopped. “We focused on that” when we got another opportunity.
