Lamar Jackson threw three touchdowns in Saturday’s 34-17 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the Baltimore Ravens quarterback couldn’t help but think about his fourth-quarter interception.

“I was angry until the game was over,” Jackson said after the game. “I’m lying. I’m still angry. The game is over and I’m still hot.”

The Ravens were poised to build a seven-point lead in the first minute of the fourth quarter. A big run by Derrick Henry brought the ball to the Pittsburgh 11-yard line. Baltimore was unable to capitalize, however, as Jackson threw a pass into the waiting arms of Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick.

The two-time MVP attributed the interception to a miscommunication with wide receiver Rashod Bateman.

The turnover wasn’t costly for the Ravens. Two plays later, cornerback Marlon Humphrey gave the home team some breathing room with a pick-six.

Jackson didn’t let the result change his perspective on the interception. He said it actually “could have made all the difference” on another night.

Beyond the actual win, Baltimore secured a spot in the playoffs and moved to the top of the AFC North at 10-5, tied with the Steelers. Saturday evening should have been a celebratory occasion, with the realization that there is still a lot of work ahead of us.

Instead, Jackson was clearly in no mood to gloss over his mistakes from Week 16, and that focus is one of the reasons he has maintained such a high level on the field throughout his seven-year career.
