Landman wrapped its first season on Paramount Plus on Sunday, with many fans still talking about an unusual strip club scene.

The series follows Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton), the “landman” of a fictional Texas oil and gas company called M Tex.

The show begins with Tommy divorcing his wife Angela (Ali Larter), although they would ultimately reconcile and live together with their 17-year-old daughter Ainsley (Michelle Randolph).

After reconciling with Tommy and being spat out by her ex, Angela decides to have something to do, visiting a retirement facility and spicing up her life with alcohol and card games, which may continue if the series gets a second season.

While her actions were frowned upon by the staff, the seniors loved them and led to her volunteering regularly and using her sprinter van for field trips.

Sunday’s season finale took Angela’s antics to a whole new level when she took them all to a strip club — and made her daughter’s high school quarterback boyfriend, Ryder (Mitchell Slaggert), dance in a jockstrap just for the older ladies , which outraged many fans.

Earlier this season, Ethel (Louanne Stephens), one of the older ladies, admitted to Angela that she just wanted to fuck my face one last time.

Angela hoped to make that happen with this trip to the strip club, where Ainsley convinced her boyfriend Ryder to strip naked for these ladies in return for countless sexual favors.

The scene, which took place at the start of the 80-minute episode, began with Angela even having paramedics from the seniors’ facility on standby in case their hearts gave out.

While the older men were all having fun, Ethel was upset to see all these younger women around her.

Angela gave everyone a wad of $20 bills to give to the dancers, while Ethel was upset that there were no men there before Ainsley surprised him with Ryder.

While Ethel Ainsley didn’t think she would like the dancer she had for herself, Ethel was thrilled when Ryder danced for her and the other ladies.

Angela even noted that Ryder was a “keeper” for doing all of this just for Ainsley, as her daughter made good on her end of the deal later that evening.

Some fans found the humor in this scene, while many others were “disgusting” that the show would showcase this.

Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan co-created the series with Christian Wallace based on his Boomtown podcast.

The 12-part podcast was released in 2019 and reached number 1 on the iTunes and Spotify podcast charts in 2020.
