Lane Kiffin takes another shot at the CFP committee during the Penn State-SMU game

Lane Kiffin made his thoughts known during the first round of the College Football Playoff this weekend.

The Ole Miss Rebels head coach took to social media on Friday night to take a shot at the college football playoff committee during a largely uncontested first-round game between Notre Dame and Indiana, and he did it again on Saturday during the Penn State game . SMU game.

You can see his post below.

Penn State dominated SMU on Saturday with a final score of 38-10 in Happy Valley, and Kiffin argues that Ole Miss (or another SEC team) should have been included in the playoff field instead of some of the lower seeds that were there were elected.

Each of the first-round games before Tennessee versus Ohio State on Saturday night ended with a deficit of several points.

Kiffin wasn’t afraid to make sure his team made the playoffs late in the season, but Ole Miss probably would have made it had it not been for three losses that year. Dropping games against Kentucky, LSU and Florida diminished the Rebels’ chances of reaching the CFP, and if they had won just one of those games, the conversation this month would be very different.

As it stands, Ole Miss will play the Duke Blue Devils in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl on January 2nd. Although they didn’t make the playoffs, the Rebels still have a chance to secure their third 10-plus win season in the last four years should they win the bowl game.

Kickoff between the Rebels and Blue Devils is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT on ESPN.
