Latest Chiefs RB information following elimination from Steelers game in Week 17

Just before the Chiefs’ fourth touchdown of the game, Isiah Pacheco jogged off the field. He was shown talking to coaches on the sidelines. What’s the latest on Kansas City Chiefs RB injury?

What happened to Isiah Pacheco?

Pacheco jogged down the sideline after a carry, his left arm barely moving. At this point, it’s unclear what exactly happened to the Chiefs RB, but the reporter on the sideline suggested it was an injury to his ribs.

Pacheco had just 18 yards on six carries before exiting the game.

Possible fantasy consequences of Isiah Pacheco’s injury

Since returning from IR, Pacheco hasn’t looked quite like himself. This backfield was already a timeshare between Pacheco and Kareem Hunt, with Samaje Perine handling obvious passing situations.

If Pacheco is out, Hunt will resume his status as lead back and do more work than he does now. His deployment will look much like it did during Pacheco’s IR appearance. We might also see Carson Steele stop by for a few snaps.

With the Chiefs securing the No. 1 pick with today’s near-certain win over the Steelers, don’t expect to see Pacheco or any of the starters in Week 18. In fact, there’s a very good chance that Hunt will be there too.
