Little girl reveals horror during Wisconsin school shooting

Just months before the 15-year-old opened fire at a Christian school in Madison, Wisconsin, Natalie Rupnow entered a shooting range and shot a teacher and a classmate.

Jeff Rupnow posted a photo of his teenage daughter shooting skeet on Facebook in August. In a comment, he wrote that the couple got together in the spring and “loved every second of it.”

Rupnow, who also went by the name “Samantha,” wore a T-shirt with the logo of the venerable German electro-industrial band KMFDM. The top is similar to one worn by teenage mass shooter Harris, who, along with classmate Dylan Klebold, fatally shot 15 students at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado, in 1999.

As Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes said during a news conference Tuesday, Rupnow’s motive for the attack at Abundant Life Christian School may have been a “combination of factors” after Rupnow shot two people and injured six others before was found dead with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police said they are currently speaking with students to determine whether the shooter was bullied. The teen had a “turbulent home life,” according to court documents. Washington Post reported.

Police and ATF are investigating the history of the handgun used in attacks

Investigators are working with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to determine the origin of the weapon believed to have been used by school shooter Natalie Rupnow.

Police said the 15-year-old gunman used a handgun in the attack – a weapon whose history is now being traced by the ATF, Madison Police Department Chief Shon Barnes told CNN on Tuesday.

It is not yet clear who owned the weapon and where it came from.

“We have asked our partners at the ATF to expedite what we call an ATF traceability form to determine the origin of this weapon, who purchased it and how it got from a manufacturer to the hands of a 15-year-old girl.” he said.

“These are questions that will take some time to answer.”

ICYMI: The school shooter had a “turbulent personal life,” court documents show

The 15-year-old Abundant Life Christian School shooter had a “tumultuous personal life,” according to court documents filed in court Washington Post.

Natalie Rupnow’s parents, Melissa and Jeff Rupnow, reportedly divorced and remarried several times. According to the newspaper, her daughter attended therapy to help her with custody arrangements.

The post reported that the documents “point to a troubled childhood for Rupnow, whose parents were sometimes forced to move between their homes every two or three days because of custody arrangements.”

They reportedly divorced for the first time in 2014 and agreed to share custody of their daughter. It was agreed that she would live primarily with her mother. They married again in 2017 and divorced for the second time in 2020. They were supposed to split custody of Natalie evenly, court records show.

After the second separation, they briefly remarried. In April 2021, they filed for a third divorce. The post Reports.

The murdered teacher was “very kind and caring,” says a former student

A seventh-grader at Abundant Life Christian School described the slain teacher as a “kind and caring” person.

Angel Brube, who was in Madison, Wisconsin, at the time of the school shooting, reflected on Monday’s horror attack.

“It was very unexpected and also very scary,” Brube told CNN. “We were just chilling in class and it just came.”

The student said he knew one of the two victims, a teacher who died in the shooting.

“The teacher, yes, I knew her. And she was a really good person,” Brube said. He added that he had been taught by her “many times before.”

“She was always very kind and caring and she was always very friendly and communicative,” he added.

When Natalie Rupnow began pulling the trigger on her gun, Brube said the first shots he heard sounded like very loud footsteps or bangs.

He said police came to the school with “long guns.”
