LeBron James and Lakers let down by NBA fans over loss to Mavs, Luka Dončić and Kyrie out | News, results, highlights, statistics and rumors

Even without Luka Dončić and Kyrie Irving, the Dallas Mavericks had no problems against the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday.

Without their stars, the Mavs defeated the Lakers 118-97, ending a five-game losing streak. PJ Washington stepped up in the absence of Dončić and Irving and scored 22 points and eight goals. Spencer Dinwiddie also had a big game against his former team with 19 points and Quentin Grimes had a productive night as a substitute with 23 points.

Lakers star Anthony Davis scored 21 points and 12 points, while LeBron James had a near triple-double with 18 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. Even though Los Angeles lost, James at least gave fans something to be happy about with this vintage gem:

After the Lakers failed to beat the Mavs without Dončić or Irving, they were mocked by fans on social media.

We’re forcing LeBron to play way too hard for a Kyrie/Luka-less Dallas game on a random Tuesday. We have to be a better man.

The Lakers fell to 20-16 after the frustrating loss and have now lost two games in a row. The Mavericks are trying to survive without Dončić and Irving, and they’ve shown they may be able to hold things together until their stars return with victory.
