LeBron James, Anthony Davis’ status vs. Pistons after appearing on Lakers’ injury report

The Los Angeles Lakers return home to face the Detroit Pistons on Monday after a successful 2-0 mini road trip against the Sacramento Kings. For a team that has had some injury concerns this season, the Lakers listed both LeBron James and Anthony Davis on their injury report ahead of their game against the Pistons.

Both LeBron James and Anthony Davis were listed as questionable on the Lakers’ injury report. James has been dealing with a foot problem, while Davis suffered a brief injury scare against the Kings on Thursday.

Davis tweaked his shoulder for the first time on December 15 against the Memphis Grizzlies. He was eliminated from that game, but then returned and secured the victory. The same thing happened against the Kings when he finally got back into the game.

James has now played three straight games since missing two games and being listed with a left foot injury. Placing both players on the team’s injury report is likely just precautionary. They will both likely be available when the Lakers return home against the Pistons.

As for the rest of the injury report, Jaxson Hayes, Jalen Hood-Schifino, Christian Wood and Jarred Vanderbilt all remain out.

The Lakers are on a winning streak

Heading into Monday’s game against Detroit, the Lakers have won three straight games. They defeated the Grizzlies at home last weekend, earning one of their best wins of the season. This was followed by two consecutive solid away wins against the Kings.

The team’s winning streak coincided with the return of James to the lineup. In the three games since his return, he averaged 23.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists, according to StatMuse. He shot 45.2 percent from the field and 66.7 percent from the free throw line.

In the Lakers’ most recent win against the Kings on Saturday, he delivered a brilliant performance for one of his best games of the season so far. He finished the game with 32 points, seven rebounds, six assists and four steals.

The Western Conference midfielder is so close that the Lakers’ recent winning streak has vaulted them to sixth place in the table after hovering near ninth/tenth place. A game and a half lead is all that separates the No. 5 seed from the No. 11 seed.

The Lakers are currently 16-12 and are 5-5 in their last ten games. There will be an interesting race in the West for the remainder of the season and the Lakers are reportedly still active in trade discussions to improve the roster.
