LeBron James’ triple-double helps LA Lakers beat San Antonio Spurs

LeBron James recorded his sixth triple-double of the season, helping the Los Angeles Lakers to a 119-101 win over the San Antonio Spurs.

James scored 16 points and added 11 assists and 10 rebounds, ending a streak of three straight losses for the Lakers.

Seven players from the visiting Lakers scored in double figures, including Dalton Knecht with 20 points and Anthony Davis with 19.

French sensation Victor Wembanyama opened the scoring for Spurs with 20 points but could not prevent his side’s four-game winning streak coming to an end.

Elsewhere, Eastern Conference leaders Cleveland Cavaliers suffered their first home loss of the season and only their second defeat of the season when they were beaten 135-124 by the Atlanta Hawks.

Trae Young scored a career-best 20 points and 22 assists for the Hawks, while teammate De’Andre Hunter scored 26 points.

“They’re a really good team that’s played well all year, and I feel like we’ve been a little inconsistent, but the times we’ve played well, we’ve played really well,” Young said .

James Harden scored 43 points for the Los Angeles Clippers in their 121-96 win at the Washington Wizards.

It was Harden’s highest point total since March 2021 and came against a Wizards team that has lost 13 straight games.

The Golden State Warriors were without the injured Stephen Curry and suffered a 105-101 home loss to the Western Conference leaders, the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 35 points for the Thunder as the Warriors suffered their third straight loss.

In Salt Lake City, Nikola Jokic contributed 30 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists to help the Denver Nuggets to a 122-103 win over the Utah Jazz.
