Leo Woodall is a mathematician on the run

Leo Woodall dives headfirst into a spy series where “Good Will Hunting” meets “Mission: Impossible.”

Woodall, who previously starred in “One Day” and “The White Lotus,” leads the Apple TV+ series “Prime Target” as a mathematician who becomes embroiled in a government conspiracy.

The official synopsis reads: “Brilliant young mathematics graduate student Edward Brooks (Woodall) is on the verge of a major breakthrough. If he can find a pattern in prime numbers, he will have the key to every computer in the world. He soon realizes that an invisible enemy is trying to destroy his idea before it’s even born, which throws him into the orbit of Taylah Sanders, a female NSA agent (Quintessa Swindell) tasked with monitoring the behavior of Observe mathematicians and report on them. Together they begin to uncover the disturbing conspiracy Edward is behind.”

Stephen Rea, David Morrissey, Martha Plimpton, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Jason Flemyng, Harry Lloyd, Ali Suliman, Fra Fee and Joseph Mydell also star.

The eight-part series is produced by Scott Free Productions and Ridley Scott’s New Regency.

“Prime Target” is created and executive produced by award-winning writer Steve Thompson (“Sherlock,” “Vienna Blood”).

Woodall will also play a major big-screen role in Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy, the fourth franchise installment of the popular novel adaptation.

Another upcoming Apple TV+ series coming in January is the highly anticipated second season of Severance. The Emmy-winning series is executive produced by Ben Stiller, who also directs five episodes this season. The series was written, created and executive produced by Dan Erickson. Adam Scott, Zach Cherry, Britt Lower, John Turturro, Patricia Arquette, Tramell Tillman and Christopher Walken star. Gwendoline Christie, Alia Shawkat and Bob Balaban are joining the cast of season two. The AppleTV+ series has received 14 Emmy nominations, including Outstanding. Drama series, directed for Stiller, actress for Scott and supporting actress for Arquette. The show arrives on January 17th, just days before the debut of Prime Target.

“Prime Target” premieres on Apple TV+ on January 22, 2025 with the first two episodes, followed by a weekly episode every Wednesday until March 5. Check out the trailer below.
