Lil’ Kim is hoping for a monsoon to save LA from wildfires

Lil’ Kim reportedly expressed her condolences for the victims of the Los Angeles fires in a controversial social media post.

On Tuesday, the New York artist shared a message on her Instagram Story, which she later reshared on both Instagram and X, formerly Twitter. She posted the screenshot and added a prayer emoji in the caption, “#PrayForLA.” “I have sent strong prayers for LA and everyone affected by the fires. This is heartbreaking. I pray to Jesus that God will make it monsoon in LA.”

The relentless fires in Los Angeles have put millions of people at risk as strong winds add to the devastation. Nearly 17 million Californians are now facing a dust and ash warning affecting large swaths of the state. At least 25 people died and up to 12,000 buildings were leveled by the flames. While many Angelenos long for relief, the winds and rains of a monsoon could worsen the crisis. Meanwhile, Lil’ Kim sparked outrage when she claimed her memoir could surpass The Bible in sales, a statement that sparked significant backlash.

Additionally, after years of battling bankruptcy, Lil’ Kim has finally paid off a significant six-figure debt to the U.S. federal government.

The IRS reportedly filed a federal tax lien against the rapper in May. The lien said she owed $150,775 for 2022, two years after multiple liens totaling $1 million were lifted against her. The IRS revealed that Kim, now 49, failed to pay years of tax bills, including amounts of $232,000 in 2003, $58,000 in 2005, $188,000 in 2006, $124,000 in 2007, $397,148 a year 2008 and $211,000 in 2016. As of 2012, the rapper’s tax debts were already $1 million.
