‘Lioness’ Season 2 Finale Shocks Viewers, Ending Explained

“Lioness” stunned viewers with a stunning season two finale.

*WARNING: THERE ARE SERIOUS SPOILERS BELOW. Consider yourself warned.*

The Season 2 finale dropped on Paramount+ on Sunday and the eighth and final episode of the latest season of Taylor Sheridan’s hit saga was just as great as expected.

The epic spy/military series is currently the best series on television. It’s a masterclass in action and storytelling.

Fans expected a wild conclusion to the season, and that’s exactly what they got with “The Compass Points Home.”

“Lioness” ends season two with an epic fight scene.

Now I’m not going to break down the entire finale. I’ll leave the plot about the cartels for you all to watch and enjoy.

What I’m going to delve into here is the absolutely epic mission to Iran to wipe out two Chinese nuclear scientists and send the message that America can join hands with the bad guys whenever we want, wherever we want .

Remember when I said that the Season 2 premiere had the best gunfight scene in the history of television? Well, that was definitely the case back then.

The finale of the second season now takes the crown. In the season two finale, Cruz and Carrillo rolled into Iran in a helicopter, with two Delta Force operators acting as reconnaissance and snipers.

With Joe and the rest of the team staying behind as QRF, it was clear that they would be called upon at some point, and that is exactly what happened when the helicopter was shot down.

What transpired over the course of the episode was easily the best action sequence ever broadcast on television. Viewers watched as Iranian warplanes were mowed down, a tank was destroyed at close range, airstrikes and non-stop gunfire – a battle sequence to rival anything in a major Hollywood film.

I was clinging to the edge of my seat the entire time. It looked like Joe and her team were going to be overrun and that was the end of the story. She even told Carrillo to save her pistol for them so they could commit suicide because they were captured alive.

Luckily, the air support arrived just in time to spark some serious hatred against the villains. Kudos also to Taylor Sheridan for creating a great spy/military show… and then becoming a badass Delta Force operator in it. What’s the point of being a Hollywood star if you can’t become a Delta Force operator on your own show?

Alpha behavior.

Overall, the second season of Lioness exceeded all expectations and was even better than the first, which was amazing. Now we sit and wait for the third season. Hit me with your thoughts [email protected].
