ATLANTA – School districts in the Atlanta metro area and north Georgia are closely monitoring the potential for snow and ice on Friday. Some schools have chosen to close their doors entirely or switch to an online learning day. The timing of the storm plays a big role in the decision.

All of North Georgia and portions of Central Georgia are under a winter storm watch beginning Friday and Saturday. A watch means heavy snow, sleet or freezing rain is possible and that Georgians should prepare for possible power outages or dangerous road conditions.
