IND vs AUS 5th Test Day 1, Live Result and Updates: Jasprit Bumrah replaces Rohit Sharma as India captain in the fifth Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Friday. Bumrah won the toss and elected to bat first.

India have made two changes since the defeat in Melbourne. Shubman Gill replaces captain Rohit Sharma while Prasidh Krishna comes in for the injured Akash Deep. “Obviously our captain showed great leadership qualities, he decided to rest today,” Bumrah said at the toss.

Australia has now made a change. Beau Webster makes his debut, replacing Mitchell Marsh. “Without cloudy skies we would have struggled first, so we were hoping to get something going,” Australia captain Pat Cummins said.
