Liverpool agree a new contract that contains shocking details and startling report claims

A sensational report has claimed Liverpool and Mohamed Salah have ‘reached an agreement’ over a new contract and the length of the deal could be a surprise.

Extending the brilliant tenures of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah is an urgent matter for Liverpool.

The trio are among the best players in the world in their positions and although Van Dijk and Salah are well into their thirties, they show no signs of decline. The current contracts of all three players expire in six months.

Salah is outperforming the rest of the Premier League this season with 26 goal involvements in just 16 games. Second on this list is Cole Palmer at 17 (before the Boxing Day games).

Salah has made no secret of his desire to continue at Anfield and this is evident in a bombshell report from FichajesAn agreement was reached.

They claimed: “Mohamed Salah will continue his story at Liverpool.” “After months of speculation and rumors about his future, the Egyptian star has reached an agreement to extend his contract with the English team.”

Fichajes He then made the bold claim that Salah’s alleged agreement would tie his future to Liverpool until 2028. In other words, a three-year contract was reportedly negotiated.

That would be a huge shock considering Liverpool’s reluctance to give players over 30 two-year contracts, let alone a three-year extension.

Nonetheless, the media is adamant that Salah’s camp and Liverpool have shaken hands on such an agreement.

Salah agrees to new Liverpool contract?

The publication breaking this news is not known for being one of the more reliable outlets when it comes to contract and transfer news.

Therefore, it may be wise for Liverpool fans to wait for official confirmation from the club or updates from more reputable media and journalists before drinking the champagne.

TEAMtalk was reliably informed by reporter Ben Jacobs earlier this month that Salah and his representatives are seeking a two-year contract that includes an option for a third season.

Jacobs also explained that Liverpool want a “flexible salary” in such an agreement, which basically means that Salah’s salary could and may start to decrease as he gets older.

Of course, a shorter one- or two-year contract would reduce the need for such an unusual clause.
