Los Angeles Wildfire: From Ben Affleck to Paris Hilton

New Delhi:

Los Angeles has experienced a major recent crisis after its suburbs were hit by wildfires on Tuesday (Jan. 7), which exploded to 27,000 acres by Wednesday.

At least five people were killed and scores injured as 150,000 residents had to be evacuated. The government also declared a state of emergency.

The worst affected are the Altadena and Sylmar districts as well as the exclusive Pacific Palisades, where a number of Hollywood stars and celebrities live in their luxurious villas.

Here’s a look at the Hollywood stars who opened up about the ordeal on social media:

Ben Affleck reportedly purchased a $20.5 million “Bachelor condo” between Brentwood and Pacific Palisades last July, according to The Daily Mail. According to TMZ, the 52-year-old Argo director was evacuated from his home on Tuesday and went to the nearby home of his ex-wife Jennifer Garner. However, it is not confirmed whether he wanted to check on his wife or whether he would stay with him.

Ben Affleck joins Jamie Lee Curtis, Mandy Moore, Mark Hamill, Eugene Levy and James Woods in the growing list of celebrities who have evacuated their homes in Pacific Palisades and surrounding areas due to the dangerous wildfire.

Mandy Moore, the singer and “This Is Us” actress, wrote on Instagram about the devastating situation they are trapped in.

“I love you, Altadena. I’m grateful that my family and pets got out last night before it was too late (and endless gratitude to friends who took us in and brought us clothes and blankets).

Honestly, I am shocked and feel numb to everything that so many have lost, including my family. My children’s school is gone. Our favorite restaurants, leveled. So many friends and family members have also lost everything. Our community is broken, but we will be here to rebuild together. “Sending love to everyone affected and on the front lines trying to get this under control,” she wrote.

Emmy Award-winning actor James Woods shared a series of posts on his X-Handle describing the situation he is in.

“To all the wonderful people who reached out to us, thank you for being so concerned. I just want to let you know that we were successfully evacuated. I don’t know at the moment if our house is still standing, but unfortunately they are houses.” “There are none on our little street,” he wrote in one of his posts.

star Wars Actor Mark Hamill told his followers on Instagram that he fled his Malibu home with his wife and dog. In his Instagram post, he called this fire the “most terrible since 1993.”

Paris Hilton also lost her house in the devastating fire. She wrote a long note on the topic: We have built so many precious memories in this house. This is where Phoenix took its first steps and where we dreamed of creating unforgettable memories together with London.

Oscar winner Jamie Lee Curtis also had to evacuate. She wrote on Instagram: “Our beloved neighborhood is gone. Our home is safe. So many others have lost everything.”

The comic actor Steve Guttenberg from the Police Academy series and Three men and a babyhas already come to the firefighters’ aid by helping move cars out of the way. “What happens is people take their keys as if they were in a parking lot. This is not a parking lot. We really need people to move their cars,” the actor told KTLA 5.

Other stars who live in Pacific Palisades include Reese Witherspoon, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, Steven Spielberg and Michael Keaton.

Tom Hanks’ son Chet wrote on his Instagram Story on Tuesday: “The neighborhood I grew up in is burning to the ground. Pray for Palisades.”

Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra has also been actively sharing updates on her Instagram stories.

She praised the rescuers and wrote: “Kudos to the incredibly brave first responders. Thank you for working tirelessly overnight and continuing to help the affected families.”
