LT Garett Bolles and Broncos agree to contract extension, per source

Garett Bolles wanted to stay with the Broncos. He waited and waited and waited. Now it’s happening.

Bolles announced his own news Thursday morning when he posted on social media that he will be staying for four more years. Sources confirmed that the Broncos and their left tackle are indeed working out the language of a contract that could very well make Bolles a Bronco for life.

The extension is worth $82 million, of which $42 million is guaranteed, and can rise to as much as $86 million if certain conditions are met, a league source confirmed to the Denver Post.

Bolles was in the final weeks of a four-year, $68 million extension he signed in November 2020 and his future appeared uncertain throughout the season.

However, at 32 years old, the 2017 first-round draft pick continues to play at a high level and is one of the top pass blockers in the NFL. Now he will protect Bo Nix’s blind side for the foreseeable future.

“My job is to play good football every day,” Bolles told The Post in November. “I’m not worried about what’s happening. You know I want to be here and finish my career here as a Denver Bronco. … I gave this organization everything I have. You know where the ball is. It’s up to them what they want to do with it.”

Financial terms of the agreement were not immediately available.
